FSC risk assessments determine the risk of sourcing unacceptable material according to the five controlled wood categories. The assessments will be used by organizations for sourcing controlled wood following the standard FSC-STD-40-005 Requirements for Sourcing FSC Controlled Wood.

Additional controlled wood categories for the following countries were approved on 8 May 2018:

  • Czech Republic (Categories 2-4). This risk assessment is now complete and shall be used in implementing V3-1 of the standard.
  • France (Categories 1-5). This risk assessment is now complete and shall be used in implementing V3-1 of the standard.
  • Malaysia (Categories 1-5). This risk assessment is now complete and shall be used in implementing V3-1 of the standard.
  • Poland (Categories 2-4). This risk assessment is now complete and shall be used in implementing V3-1 of the standard.
  • Sweden (Categories 3 & 4). This risk assessment is now complete and shall be used in implementing V3-1 of the standard.
  • Turkey (Categories 1-5). This risk assessment is now complete and shall be used in implementing V3-1 of the standard.
